Circular Routes

The routes described as Circular Routes (CR) (with variations) allow ease of access using one vehicle rather than needing 2 vehicles or collection at the end as is often the case traversing the main Epynt Way (EW) Sections. These routes enable exploration of country off the main EW. Some incorporate sections of the EW. Where the CR goes along part of the EW numbered marker posts are referred to in the route description.

Where the CR is off the Sennybridge Training Area and MOD land, be aware the route is not waymarked. There may be a few bridle path/public footpath way marks placed by Powys County Council. You are advised to download the CR maps and route descriptions from the EW website or use OS Explorer 188 Builth Wells, 187 or 181, 1:25,000 or OS Sheet 160, Brecon Beacons 1:50,000.

On most of the CRs the distinction can be clearly seen between upland farm gazing land and non-grassed “natural” terrain on the Training Area.

For each CR a brief outline is given as well as starting point(s) with map reference, access, walking time, height variations and a description of the route. Variations on the CR are given including different start/finish points to allow easier access and parking and in some cases alternative routes as well as additions.
